NEWCASTLE UNITED have confirmed the signing of Spanish defender Javier Manquillo.
Manquillo, who spent last season on loan Sunderland, has joined Newcastle from Atletico Madrid.
The 23-year-old, who can play in either full-back position, has signed a three-year deal, and has already linked up with his new Newcastle team-mates at their training camp in Ireland.
Madrid-born Manquillo started his career with Atletico, and has also played on loan for Liverpool, Marseille and Sunderland.
Last season, he made 15 Premier League starts as Sunderland were relegated at the foot of the table.
He is Newcastle's fourth summer signing, following Christian Atsu, Florian Lejeune and Jacob Murphy.
