JESUS GAMEZ and Jamie Sterry both make their full Newcastle United debuts in this evening's EFL Cup second-round tie with Cheltenham Town.

Rafael Benitez has made eight changes to the team that started Saturday's 1-0 win at Bristol City, with Jamaal Lascelles, Jack Colback and Mo Diame the only players to retain their place in the team.

Karl Darlow replaces Matz Sels in goal, with Gamez and Sterry coming in for Ciaran Clark and Vurnon Anita in the full-back berths.

Grant Hanley, who has not appeared since the first game of the season, partners Lascelles at centre-half.

Jonjo Shelvey will play alongside Colback at the base of midfield, with Rolando Aarons and Ayoze Perez lining up on either side of Diame.

Aleksandar Mitrovic replaces Dwight Gayle up front, and makes his first appearance of the season after completing a four-game suspension.
