CRYSTAL PALACE are set to move for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko following Yannick Bolasie’s move to Everton.

Bolasie completed a £25m move to Goodison Park this morning, with Palace boss Alan Pardew having been promised significant funds in order to secure a replacement for the 27-year-old.

Pardew, who is also set to lose Mile Jedinak to Aston Villa in the next few days, worked closely with Sissoko during his time at St James’ Park, and has recommended the France international as his preferred target.

Palace officials are expected to make formal contact with their counterparts on Tyneside in the next few days, although Newcastle continue to value Sissoko at around £35m and Benitez has consistently been told that he does not have to sell the 26-year-old, who still has three years of his contract remaining, if he does not want to.

Sissoko is back in training with Newcastle, but has not been involved in either of the club’s opening two Championship matches.

He has been linked with possible moves to Real Madrid and Juventus this summer, with Everton also having expressed an interest in his services.
