SCOTLAND defender Grant Hanley has been given permission to head to Newcastle United to complete a move to St James' Park.
Blackburn Rovers have reluctantly accepted a £5.5m bid from the Magpies after the centre-back made it clear he wanted to join Rafael Benitez's revolution on Tyneside.
Newcastle have already had two moffers rejected for the defender but Blackburn have caved in after the latest matched their valuation of the the 24-year-old.
Hanley, from Dumfries, was left out of Blackburn's friendly with Rochdale on Tuesday and he is now expected to travel over to Newcastle to finalise the switch by undergoing a medical.
