NEWCASTLE (4-2-3-1):
6 Darlow: Made a good first-half save to deny Eriksen, but will be disappointed to have been beaten by Lamela at his front post
8 Janmaat: Showed the attacking drive down the right that Newcastle have lacked in his absence, and took his goal extremely well
7 Mbemba: Would have been expecting a difficult afternoon – but barely had to break sweat as he marked Kane out of the game
7 Taylor: Impressed on what will almost certainly be his final Newcastle appearance given that his contract is about to expire
7 Dummett: Was sorely missed in the period that he was unavailable, and is likely to be a key part of the back four in the Championship
7 Tiote: One of a number of players to have rediscovered their best form when it was much too late – likely to leave this summer
7 Colback: Hasn’t been anywhere near his best for most of this season, but could prove an extremely useful asset in the second tier
8 Townsend: Another sparkling display from one of the few players who is absolved from any blame – deserves to go to the Euros
8 Sissoko: Where on earth has this kind of performance been all season? Dominated from start to finish and helped set up three goals
9 WIJNALDUM: Scored two goals to make it 11 for the season, although it’s extremely frustrating that he left it this long to return to the fore
3 Mitrovic: Was excellent for more than an hour, scoring with a powerful header, but ruined things with a mindless sending off
Subs:
Shelvey (for Tiote, 62): Hasn’t had anything like the impact that might have been anticipated – it’ll be interesting to see if he remains this summer 5
Aarons (for Wijnaldum, 76)
Sterry (for Sissoko, 83)
(not used): Woodman (gk), de Jong, Perez, Cisse.
TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1):
Lloris 4; Walker 5, Alderweireld 4, Vertonghen 3, Davies 4; Dier 4, Mason 5 (Carroll 46, 4); LAMELA 6, Eriksen 4, Son 4 (Onomah 46, 5); Kane 3.
Subs (not used): Vorm (gk), Rose, N’Jie, Chadli, Wimmer.
Man Of The Match: GEORGINIO WIJNALDUM – On his day, he is one of the most talented attacking midfielders in the Premier League. But there have probably only been three of those days over the course of a whole season.
