ANDROS TOWNSEND will make his Newcastle United debut in this evening's Premier League game at Everton.
But in an unexpected move, Steve McClaren has dropped Aleksandar Mitrovic and will start with Ayoze Perez up front.
In total, McClaren has made three changes to the side that started Newcastle's last game at Watford, and abandoned the five-man defensive formation that lined up Vicarage Road.
A fit-again Paul Dummett returns at left-back, with both Jamaal Lascelles and Rolando Aarons dropping out.
Townsend will start on the left-hand side, with Moussa Sissoko on the opposite flank and Georginio Wijnaldum playing in the hole.
Perez will start as a lone striker, with Mitrovic, who has been struggling for form recently, dropping down to the bench.
Deadline-day signing Seydou Doumbia is also named amongst the substitutes after his work visa came through in time for him to be involved at Goodison Park.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has left Leighton Baines and Gerard Deulofeu out of his starting line-up, and John Stones is not in the home side's squad.
Everton (4-2-3-1): Robles; Coleman, Funes Mori, Jagielka, Oviedo; McCarthy, Barry; Lennon, Barkley, Cleverley; Lukaku.
Subs: Stanek (gk), Baines, Gibson, Osman, Pienaar, Deulofeu, Kone.
Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Elliot; Janmaat, Mbemba, Coloccini, Dummett; Saivet, Shelvey; Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Townsend; Perez.
Subs: Darlow (gk), Taylor, Lascelles, Aarons, Gouffran, Doumbia, Mitrovic.
