NEWCASTLE UNITED are heading to the United States for three games as part of an exciting pre-season tour.

The Magpies have confirmed that they will be heading to Milwaukee, Sacramento and Portland during July as part of their preparations for next season’s Premier League campaign under a new head coach.

After facing Mexican side Club Atlas at Milwaukee’s Miller Park on July 14 (8pm local time), the Magpies will then face Sacramento Republic at their Bonney Field home on July 18 (8pm local time).

Newcastle will then head for Portland to face the Timbers at Providence Park on Tuesday, July 21 (7.30pm local time) and then return to the North-East to continue their pre-season schedule ahead of the opening weekend of the Premier League on August 8.

Newcastle managing director Lee Charnley said: “The US is a territory for the Premier League and the huge increase in the numbers of US viewers watching Premier League games over the last couple of seasons mean this is a perfect trip for us to head across the Atlantic.

“We also we have a number of strong and enthusiastic fan groups based in the States and look forward to engaging with as many of them as possible them during the tour.”
