FABRICIO COLOCCINI has had his appeal for wrongful dismissal rejected by the Football Association.
The Newcastle United defender will now miss the games with Arsenal, Sunderland and Liverpool following his straight red card at Everton on Sunday.
Coloccini made a wild lunge on Toffees winger Aaron Lennon and was immediately dismissed, but Newcastle lodged an appeal against the card.
An independent regulatory commission heard his case today and it was decided the sending-off still stands.
The FA statement read: “His standard punishment of a three-match suspension remains and will commence with immediate effect.”
