NEWCASTLE UNITED'S injury fears have abated to enable Alan Pardew to name a strong starting line-up for this evening's Premier League game at Burnley.

Pardew reeled off a list of potential injury absentees at his pre-match press conference, but almost all of the potential missing players are available to line up at Turf Moor.

Rob Elliot retains his place in goal despite his partner being due to give birth imminently, while Daryl Janmaat also starts despite picking up a strain at Upton Park.

Mike Williamson and Massadio Haidara were also struggling with knocks in the wake of the weekend defeat to West Ham, but the defensive duo have both been passed fit to face Burnley.

Pardew's two changes to the side that started in East London are both enforced, with Moussa Sissoko suspended following his weekend dismissal and Jack Colback suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season three days ago.

Mehdi Abeid returns at the heart of midfield after recovering from the fractured toe he sustained on international duty with Algeria, while Papiss Cisse is also back in the starting line-up for the first time since the start of November.

Cisse is likely to start as a lone centre-forward, with Ayoze Perez dropping slightly deeper to play in the hole behind the Senegal international.
