Full-time: West Bromwich Albion 0 Newcastle United 2

NEWCASTLE United made it five wins in a row to climb up to seventh in the Premier League by defeating West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

After a largely uneventful first half, young Spanish striker audaciously flicked the Magpies in front seconds before the break when he turned in Daryl Janmaat’s low cross.

Janmaat’s presence down the right also created the second just after the hour when Fabricio Coloccini nodded in the Dutchman’s deep cross to the back post.

Those goals proved enough to give Newcastle the points to lift them up to level with Manchester United in sixth spot, although Swansea City will knock them down to eighth should they defeat Arsenal later today.
