Return: Boro are heading back to Oakwell where Rhys Williams was truck by his latest injury in January
MIDDLESBROUGH have confirmed a third pre-season friendly after revealing a trip to Barnsley.
Boro will head for Oakwell on Wednesday, July 29 to face the Tykes just four days after facing Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Middlesbrough claimed a 2-0 FA Cup win at Oakwell in January when goals from Jelle Vossen and Dani Ayala guided them through. It was also the afternoon when Rhys Williams' long awaited comeback lasted less than 60 seconds.
There will still be a potential home friendly on Saturday, August 1 to confirm at the Riverside among others.
Boro's pre-season dates: July 11 York City (A); July 25 Doncaster Rovers (A); July 29 Barnsley (A).
