ALBERT ADOMAH has been rewarded for his fine end-of-season displays with Middlesbrough with a recall to the Ghana squad.

Adomah has been named in former Chelsea boss Avram Grant’s Ghanaian squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Mauritius later this month.

The Boro winger was part of the Ghana squad that failed to win a game at last year’s World Cup finals in Brazil, but found himself shuffled out of the international picture as part of the changes that were demanded in the wake of the poor tournament showing.

He failed to make the cut for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, which saw Ghana lose to Ivory Coast on penalties in the final, but Grant was impressed with his performances in the Championship last season and has brought him back into the fold as Ghana attempt to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon.

Meanwhile, Championship duo Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City have both expressed an interest in signing Dean Whitehead following the versatile defender’s release from the Riverside at the end of last month.

Former Middlesbrough backroom duo Mark Venus and Jamie Clapham have been reunited with Tony Mowbray at Coventry City.

Venus has moved to the Ricoh Arena as the League One club’s new technical director, while Clapham has been appointed as a senior coach.
