FULHAM (4-1-3-2): Bettinelli 5; Hoogland 6, Turner 7, Hutchinson 5, Richards 7; Guthrie 6 (Fofana 76); Kavanagh 7, Tunnicliffe 6, Ruiz 6 (Woodrow 81); McCORMACK 9, Rodallega 8 (Smith 87). Subs: Kiraly (gk), Roberts, Voser, Burn.
MIDDLESBROUGH (4-2-3-1):
7 Konstantopoulos: Told to go up in stoppage-time and made two stunning saves earlier in the game;
5 Fredericks: Did not slot back in to the side with as much confidence as he had earlier in the season
6 Ayala: Stupidly gave a penalty away but at least redeemed himself with a lovely header
5 Gibson: Found McCormack a real handful from start to finish even though he gave his all
5 Friend: Had looked to push on when he could but guilty of being sent off as the last man when he fouled Rodallega
5 Clayton: Not one of his better days and lucky not to have been made to pay in the first half when Guthrie robbed him on the edge of his box
8 Leadbitter: Led from the front as Boro threatened to clinch an unlikely point
7 Adomah: After a poor start he was more influential after the restart and he teed up Ayala’s goal
5 Vossen: Far too ineffective in the first hour and paid the price by being withdrawn
7 Tomlin: Lively enough in and around the box without ever dominating like McCormack did
5 Bamford: This was not the leading scorer’s day and he struggled to threaten Bettinelli’s goal
Subs:
Reach (for Fredericks 61): Took his goal well and offered a greater threat. 7
Forshaw (for Clayton 61): Slotted in to the middle quickly and involved in Reach’s goal. 6
Kike (for Vossen 61): Grabbed a terrific equaliser with a great header. 7
(not used): Ripley (gk), Whitehead, Tiendalli, Nsue.
MAN OF THE MATCH: ROSS McCormack – tormented the Middlesbrough defence to illustrate why he was wanted on Teesside for so long before his £11m switch to the Cottage.
