Final Score: Middlesbrough 4 Brentford 0

MIDDLESBROUGH made it three wins on the trot with a convincing 4-0 win over Brentford at the Riverside Stadium.

Goals from Grant Leadbitter, Albert Adomah, Patrick Bamford and Kike completed the scoring.

The hosts started well with Patrick Bamford seeing an early shot fly over the bar in the opening two minutes, before his strike partner also went close.

Albert Adomah swung in a dangerous ball from the left to Vossen, but his header was comfortably saved by David Button.

Middlesbrough’s front two were forging a deadly partnership early on and the pair combined to set up Adomah, who was just beaten to the ball by Brentford’s keeper.

Just after the quarter hour mark Vossen chest on the lively Nsue on the right and he went close with a clever lofted shot.

Warburton’s side were struggling to put any pressure on the hosts in the first half and Adomah came close to opening the scoring when he latched onto Vossen’s through-ball.

The Ghana international did well to out-muscle Harlee Dean, but his low shot trickled wide of the post.

Such was the hosts’ dominance it seemed only a matter of time before they would be rewarded for a good display and the deadlock was finally broken ten minutes before the break.

Grant Leadbitter – who scored a wonderful long range goal at Huddersfield a week ago – struck again when he picked up the ball 35 yards out and sent a rasping drive past Button and in.

Adomah made it two five minutes after the break when he latched onto Emilio Nsue’s cross after Vossen had supplied a great ball to the winger.

The goals continued to come when Bamford got on the score sheet in the 68th minute when he headed in Leadbitter’s cross.

Boro were reduced to ten men when Dean Whitehead was sent off late on for a bad foul, but Spanish striker Kike came on and scored a fourth with a minute left.
