CONNOR ROBERTS and Marcus Tavernier will make their senior Middlesbrough debut in this evening's Carabao Cup second-round game with Scunthorpe United.
Boro boss Garry Monk has made nine changes to the side that lost at Nottingham Forest on Saturday as he takes charge of his first knock-out game in charge of the Teessiders.
Dael Fry and Adam Forshaw are the only players to remain in tonight's starting line-up after also featuring in the starting side at the City Ground.
Roberts will make his first Boro appearance at right-back after joining on loan from Swansea City in the summer, with Daniel Ayala and Fabio da Silva also appearing in the back four.
Lewis Baker and Grant Leadbitter will play alongside Forshaw in midfield, with Monk changing all three members of his forward three.
Tavernier will make his first senior appearance after impressing at Under-23 level, with Adama Traore and Ashley Fletcher also lining up in attack.
Youngster Lewis Wing has been named among the substitutes, with Stewart Downing also selected on the bench despite ongoing interest from Birmingham City.
