FABIO DA SILVA and Viktor Fischer will make their Middlesbrough debuts in this evening's EFL Cup second-round tie at Fulham.

The duo have been named in a starting line-up that contains six changes from the team that kicked off against Sunderland at the weekend.

However, there is no place in the starting XI for Jordan Rhodes, who finds himself on the substitutes' bench amid ongoing speculation about his future.

Fabio replaces George Friend at left-back, with Daniel Ayala partnering Ben Gibson at centre-half and Alex Baptiste lining up on the right of the back four.

Julien de Sart partners Adam Clayton at the base of midfield, with Adam Forshaw dropping to the bench, while Fischer replaces Cristhian Stuani in midfield.

Emilio Nsue will play in midfield rather than at full-back, with David Nugent replacing Alvaro Negredo in attack.

Fulham (4-4-1-1): Joronen; Grimmer, Stearman, Ream, Malone; Tunnicliffe, Adeniran, Christensen, Jozabed; Edun; Woodrow.

Middlesbrough (4-2-3-1): Guzan; Baptiste, Ayala, Gibson, Fabio; Clayton, de Sart; Nsue, Downing, Fischer; Nugent.

Subs: Konstantopoulos (gk), Friend, Barragan, Forshaw, Stuani, Rhodes, Negredo.
