McQueen heading back to Boro

GORDON McQUEEN has returned to Middlesbrough as part of a move to strengthen the club's recruitment team.

McQueen was first team coach during Bryan Robson's days in charge and has been asked to take on a new position that will see him work alongside chief scout Dave Leadbeater.

With former Boro star David Mills already drafted in since leaving his post as chief scout at Newcastle United, it is clearly Middlesbrough's intention to improve their scouting methods.

McQueen, 55, has been working as a match analyser for Sky Sports but, together with Mills, he will now be working full-time with Middlesbrough.

The three-man senior recruitment team will report to manager Gareth Southgate with their recommendations, while Ron Bone and Martin Carter will continue to go direct to Academy director Dave Parnaby.

McQueen's got to be older than that, my dad's 67 and he looks younger than him..
Hopefully now we won't have to hear him drone on any longer when he follows his beloved Man U on Sky Sports News.
