MIDDLESBROUGH have announced they are to play in a pre-season tournament in Portugal in July.
Boro will play in the Algarve Challenge Cup as part of their warm-up for the 2008-09 campaign.
Gareth Southgate's men will be joined in the competition by Celtic, Cardiff City and Vitoria Guimaraes.
The ties have not been confirmed, although the dates of the matches are July 22 and July 24.
Boro have also set up away friendlies with York (July 18), Carlisle (July 29), Hibernian (August 2) and Darlington (August 5).
