DIMI KONSTANTOPOULOS will have nightmares for weeks after the horrible moment in the dying seconds of Middlesbrough's defeat to Queens Park Rangers at the Riverside Stadium.

The big Greek goalkeeper will never forget the way the ball bobbled up to miss his foot as he attempted to clear in the 94th minute of play as the game headed for a 1-1 draw. Even if he could do little about it.

But Konstantopoulos is not the first goalkeeper to have suffered an embarrassing moment, nor will he be the last. Here's a look back at five of the worst goalkeeper moments over the last 20 years.

Massimo Taibi

In September 1999, the Italian let a hopeful 25-yard shot from Southampton's Matt Le Tissier squirm through his legs and over the line to get his Manchester United career off to the worst possible start.

Tim Flowers

The Blackburn goalkeeper had made an indent in the ground in his six-yard box and Liverpool striker Stan Collymore's tame distance effort bobbled up over the goalkeeper as he bent down to gather in February 1996.

Peter Enckelman

The Aston Villa goalkeeper completely missed Olof Mellberg's throw-in back towards him and the ball trickled over the line in a derby with Birmingham in August 2009.

Paul Robinson

In an important Euro 2008 qualifier in 2006, the England goalkeeper completely missed his kick when Gary Neville's back-pass bobbled in front of him. The ball rolled over the line to put Croatia on their way to a 2-0 win.

Robert Green

Dimi Konstantopoulos' opposite number at the Riverside has had his fair share of embarrassment moments – even for England at the World Cup.

Arguably Green's worst was when he dropped the ball out of his hands believing his penalty area was clear. Nottingham Forest's David Johnson appeared from behind to condemn Norwich to a 2-0 defeat in 2003.
