MIDDLESBROUGH (4-1-4-1):

7 Randolph: Didn’t have a lot to do in terms of shot-stopping, but dominated his area and claimed a succession of dangerous crosses

8 Shotton: Has made the right-back spot his own in the second half of the season and has helped make Boro much more defensively resolute

8 Ayala: Another excellent display from a player at the very top of his form – was always in the right place to snuff out any threat

7 Gibson: Helped ensure Boro completely negated Millwall’s attacking threat and wasn’t cowed by his opponents’ physical approach

7 Friend: Made some useful breaks down the left-hand side and ensured Wallace was not a factor in the Millwall midfield

7 Clayton: Justified his continued presence ahead of Leadbitter with another calm, authoritative display at the base of midfield

7 Traore: Should have scored at the start of the second half, but produced his usual flashes of dazzling brilliance

8 BESIC: His probing attacking runs have made a huge difference to Boro’s attacking play in the second half of the season

7 Howson: Made the most of a stroke of luck as he claimed his third goal of the season, but was always willing to break into the box

7 Downing: Delivered the cross that led to Howson’s goal and remains a reliable presence on the left-hand side

7 Assombalonga: Displayed impeccable technique to claim his 15th goal of the campaign and looks a better goalscoring bet than Bamford
