MIDDLESBROUGH fans have taken to Twitter as the club nears a record-breaking deal for Britt Assombalonga.
The £15m-rated striker, who is currently undergoing a medical at Rockliffe Park, is set to become Boro’s all-time record signing ahead of Afonso Alves.
As if today wasn't good enough already I just found this in my bag #utb pic.twitter.com/a0e6TaSIP4

Huge vote of confidence for Monk. Not sure Gibson ever really trusted AK's judgement to back him to this extent #Smashtheleague #utb

Actually feel like a kid in a sweet shop knowing we're signing Assombalonga, I actually love Steve Gibson #UTB

Can't wait to be in Flares after the first home game of the season seeing "let's all do the conga" changed to "Britt Assombalonga" #UTB

As a parent paying for names on my kids' #Boro shirt can I say that Assombalonga signing for us rather than Ojo is very disappointing #utb

Assombalonga (if fit, big if) is a good pick up for Middlesbrough and at a sensible price for Forest. Wins for all parties involved.

I'll be happy about Assombalonga once he actually signs, stays fit, and starts scoring goals. I still suffer from post-Alves-stress-disorder
