MIDDLESBROUGH (4-5-1):

7 Guzan: Found himself back in the side for the injured Valdes and handled everything thrown at him with a high degree of comfort

6 Barragan: Started brightly as he returned from suspension, but was forced off with a hamstring injury before the interval

8 CHAMBERS: Looked much more comfortable at centre-half than he had at full-back at Old Trafford, and won a series of impressive headers

8 Gibson: Another hugely effective display from a player who has really come into his own this season – an England call-up surely beckons

7 Fabio: Was switched to the right-hand side after Barragan was injured, and looked equally at home in either of the full-back positions

6 Traore: Mixed the very good with the very bad – clearly boasts plenty of talent, but his end product is often awful

5 De Roon: Wasn’t able to get forward anything like as much as he would have wanted, although his work rate couldn’t be faulted

6 Clayton: Returned at the base of midfield and helped ensure Mahrez wasn’t able to pose a problem from his free role in the Leicester team

5 Forshaw: Not one of his most influential performances, although he covered plenty of ground in a defensive capacity

5 Ramirez: Gave the ball away on a number of occasions, and wasted the best chance of the game when he found the side-netting

6 Negredo: Cut an understandably frustrated figure by the final whistle, but never stopped trying to hold the ball up in order to feed his team-mates

Subs:

Friend (for Barragan, 34): Was unfortunate not to start after playing well at Old Trafford, and was Boro’s most dangerous attacker for much of the second half 7

Downing (for Traore, 80)

Leadbitter (for Forshaw, 89)

(not used): Konstantopoulos (gk), Bernardo, Stuani, Rhodes.

LEICESTER (4-3-1-2):

Schmeichel 6; Simpson 6, Morgan 8, HUTH 8, Fuchs 7; King 6, Mendy 5 (Albrighton 83), Amartey 5; Mahrez 6 (Musa 71); Okazaki 5 (Gray 74), Ulloa 5.

Subs (not used): Zieler (gk), Hernandez, Chilwell, Wasilewski.

Man Of The Match: ROBERT HUTH – The former Riverside favourite reproduced his form from last season as he successfully dealt with a succession of crosses from Boro’s wide players.
