DAVID MOYES is ready to allow Jermain Defoe and Victor Anichebe to continue their blossoming partnership when Sunderland head to Anfield tomorrow.

Despite Liverpool’s impressive 30-goal tally from 12 Premier League games this season, the Black Cats boss is prepared to give the two strikers a starting spot after back-to-back wins.

Both forwards have scored in the two matches, with Anichebe claiming his first three goals since signing as a free agent two days after the transfer window closed.

Even though Moyes expects Liverpool to be on the front foot and put Sunderland under a lot of pressure, he is keen to try to make an impression in an attacking sense too against the Reds.

Asked whether he would play two up front, Moyes said: “We won’t make too many changes, we don’t have many to make. If you look through our squad you can probably near enough pick our team because we don’t have a lot.

"That’s why we need to get the likes of Kirchhoff, Seb Larsson and Lee Cattermole back because those type of lads gives us experience.

“When we go to Liverpool it is a really tough game. You have to see what they have done to Watford and other teams recently. We are not kidding ourselves.

"I want to give them a game and I would rather try to play if I can. There will be part of it that we have to park the bus and part of me hopes our forwards can get the goals.”

Sunderland have Jason Denayer available after shrugging off cramp from last weekend, although Paddy McNair has added to the injury list after rupturing a cruciate knee ligament. Jan Kirchhoff is still not available though.

He said: “Kirch is probably the one who is not ready. Seb has had a couple of games under his belt but Kirch is probably the one not ready. Kirch is still struggling, has been since Monday, he could hardly move for a few days. We need to take him on slowly.”
