AITOR KARANKA wants Middlesbrough to go and show they have the attacking capability to be a home force when they return to action at the Riverside on Saturday.

Boro are yet to win on home soil this season and being more adventurous in the final third is something that supporters have been craving, having suffered three straight defeats in front of their own fans.

The sight of Adama Traore bursting at the Arsenal defence at the weekend is something that a Teesside crowd will be looking to see when they face Bournemouth.

And Karanka insists he wants to see Middlesbrough show more of what they can do in the final third – and claims that he is enjoying life in the Premier League despite the testing start.

He said: “We had two games or three a week in the Championship, in the Premier League we have more time to prepare for the games. We have more time to work on the games.

“We knew that we would have to defend against Arsenal away from home and we did that, now when we are at home we know we need to try to play more and that is how we like to play.

“I told them that we showed everyone we can compete against every single team on Saturday at Arsenal and that should be good for us. We just want that to continue.”

Middlesbrough have still only won the once this season and that was at bottom club Sunderland. However, they did show plenty of encouraging signs at Arsenal, even though they failed to score again.

Middlesbrough’s attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez has found it harder to impress in the Premier League than he did during his half season loan in the Championship last season.

But Ramirez said: “From the first moment I came here it was the right decision for me to join (from Southampton), it brought back the confidence I needed to do my best.

“I have thought only about good things since I came here. Physically I feel 100 per cent, I enjoyed last year. This year I aim to keep it going and this group is fantastic to play with.”
