MIDDLESBROUGH will complete their pre-season preparations with a home game against Real Sociedad.

The Teessiders will take on the La Liga side at the Riverside on Saturday, August 6 (2pm), a week before the Premier League season begins.

This will be the third year running that Aitor Karanka’s side have welcomed a team from La Liga to the Riverside for pre-season, after Villarreal in 2014 and Getafe in 2015.

The Real Sociedad game will follow Boro’s pre-season trip to Marbella, with the side heading for Spain on July 18 after games against York City, Doncaster Rovers and Aston Villa.

Tickets will be priced at £10 and £5 and details of their sale will be available shortly.

Meanwhile, Boro goalkeeper Connor Ripley has joined League One side Oldham Athletic on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at SPL side Motherwell, moves in the wake of Victor Valdes' addition to Boro's goalkeeping ranks.
