MIDDLESBROUGH have agreed terms with Danish winger Viktor Fischer, with the deal set to go through subject to international clearance.
The player has left Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie to join newly promoted Boro for a fee believed to be £3.8m.
Fischer, 21, had been on the radar of some of the Premiership's leading clubs, but suffered a serious injury, which hampered his progression.
However, he has refound his form this season, scoring ten goals for the Amsterdam side.
It is understood will sign a three-year deal with an option for a fourth year after flying into Teesside and passing a medical on Wednesday.
It is understood the transfer cannot officially go through until the international transfer window opens on June 9.
Fischer is a gifted winger and an excellent finisher who can play in behind a central striker.

Viktor Fischer is potentially a brilliant signing. An absolute steal if he can get near his potential. #boro

Great first signing is Victor Fischer, provide proper competition for Downing on the left...and can play right and centre... #boro
