MIDDLESBROUGH (4-2-3-1):
7 Mejias: Wasn’t tested at all for the opening hour, but made a couple of decent late saves from Wolves’ substitutes
8 Nsue: Galloped up and down the right-hand side all evening and linked up nicely with Adomah to set up Fabbrini’s goal
7 Kalas: Moved into a central defensive role and looked solid throughout – his pace is a real attribute when he plays infield
7 Amorebieta: Led the defence effectively in the absence of Ayala and Gibson and was always in control in the air
7 Friend: His usual energetic self down the left-hand side and delivered an excellent cross for Adomah’s second goal
6 Leadbitter: Held his position well at the base of midfield but his range was awry as some long-range passes failed to find their target
7 Forshaw: Restored to the starting line-up in place of Clayton and slotted in nicely as he passed the ball well
8 ADOMAH: Took both of his goals superbly and was a threat whenever he pushed on into the penalty area
7 Fabbrini: Grew in influence as the game wore on – converted his goal clinically and almost claimed another when he hit the crossbar
7 De Pena: Started slowly, but was involved in both of the opening two goals and seemed to come to terms with the pace of the game
6 Kike: His effort couldn’t be faulted as he led the line, but he failed to find target after chipping over the goalkeeper in the closing stages
Subs:
5 Clayton (for Leadbitter, 67): The game was pretty much done and dusted when he came on, but he slotted in effectively enough
Stephens (for Friend, 74)
Reach (for de Pena, 79)
(not used): Agazzi (gk), Gibson, Downing, Nugent.
WOLVES (4-4-1-1):
Ikeme 5; Doherty 5, Iorfa 4, Ebanks-Landell 4, Deslandes 5; Wallace 4, PRICE 6, McDonald 4, Saville 5 (Henry 81); Enobakhare 4 (Le Fondre 60, 5); van La Parra (Afobe 60, 5).
Subs (not used): Martinez (gk), Golbourne, Rowe, Ojo.
Man Of The Match: ALBERT ADOMAH – Has claimed three goals in the space of three games, and hasn’t put a foot wrong since being reintegrated back into the fold.
