SOUTHAMPTON defender Jack Stephens has become the latest summer arrival at Middlesbrough.

The 21-year-old, who spent last season at Swindon, trained with the Boro squad today and could figure against Getafe in a pre-season friendly at the Riverside on Saturday.

Stephens, a centre-back who has signed a new contract at the Saints until 2019 this week, will provide much-needed competition particularly following injuries to Ben Gibson and Alex Baptiste.

He follows Stewart Downing, Christian Stuani, Tomas Kalas and Diego Fabbri to Teesside this summer.
