MIDDLESBROUGH'S remarkable run of Capital One Cup away games will continue next month after tonight's quarter-final draw handed them a testing trip to Swansea.

Boro have now been drawn away from home on 13 successive occasions in the League Cup, with their last home tie in the competition coming in August 2008.

The Teessiders have travelled almost 3,500 miles for League Cup matches in that time, and will make the long trip to South Wales in the week commencing Monday, December 10 hoping to secure a place in the two-legged semi-finals.

Boro boss Tony Mowbray will be disappointed to have been drawn away from home yet again, but his side at least avoided Chelsea and Arsenal, who are the two biggest sides left in the competition.

Swansea, who are currently 11th in the Premier League table, booked their place in the last eight with a 3-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield last night.

Former Middlesbrough trainee Danny Graham was an unused substitute, but the striker will be desperate to face his former employers at the Liberty Stadium.

Boro have won just one of their last seven meetings with the Swans, although next month's game will be the first League Cup encounter between the two teams.

The pick of the quarter-final ties sees League Two Bradford City host Arsenal after knocking out Wigan Athletic on Tuesday. Chelsea travel to Elland Road to face Leeds, while the only all-Premier League tie sees Norwich entertain Aston Villa.
