RONNIE MOORE has only been in the job since December – and already he’s working under his third Hartlepool United owner and chairman.

On the day he was appointed, Moore was unveiled along with Peter Harris and TMH. They didn’t last long, the deal never completed and Pools remained under the steady hand of Ken Hodcroft and IOR.

Now they have been taken over for good.

Chairman Gary Coxall is in charge and Pools are owned by JPNG Recrtuitment.

Moore has been able, under both Hodcroft and Coxall, to sign eight players and totally revamp his squad.

With the promise of a new contract for both Moore and his assistant Sam Collins to come, the Pools boss said: “The new people are in, they’ve backed me a lot. They are settled and working well with me.

“We have spoken about a new contract, so let’s get that sorted for myself and Sam and then kick on.

“There’s not going to be millions and millions or pounds to spend, but they are making all the right noises.’’

Coxall has been constantly interacting with supporters on Twitter since his arrival and the club is set to announce new shirt sponsors and unveil a new kit.

Moore, on Twitter himself, quipped: “The chairman likes using Twitter at the moment and that might change when we lose a couple of games and everyone gets slagged off!

“It’s a good thing for the chairman to get involved and he wants to speak to the supporters. I’m on there and sometimes say one or two things, but I’ve been banned now by the Mrs – I get fined if I say anything back to people when they can say what they want to me!

“But it’s all positive with the new owners, there’s talk of a new training ground and they are making all the right noises.’’

Pools start their pre-season campaign on Monday when they go to Billingham Town, before visiting Harrogate RA the following evening and then Whitby Town on Friday, July 17.

They’ve spent this week working at Marne Barracks at Catterick and RAF Dishforth and, looking back to last season’s survival, Moore said: “There’s a feelgood factor around Hartlepool right now and I’ve said to the lads, especially the ones here last season, that they have to bottle that feeling.

“If we have been top of the league by 40 points then we couldn’t have enjoyed it or been any more joyous than we were after beating Exeter. But it was fantastic and the way we finished the season off at Carlisle... the bus breaks down, we get there half an hour before kick-off, go three-nil down and then come back to 3-3 and we could have won it!

“For me, they are great memories which we will never lose. I’ve got the Great Escape as my ringtone and it inspires me. But it’s gone and hope this season, with the great bunch of lads we’ve got can get us into a position where we want to be.’’
