RONNIE Moore has been appointed new Hartlepool United manager.

Hours after the club became under new ownership, chairman Peter Harris has made his first major decision.

Moore, who watched Pools defeat at Burton on Saturday, was installed as favourite for the position.

Harris said: “We’re really pleased that Ronnie will be coming in, we believe that having Ronnie in charge will give the Club the best possible chance of remaining in the Football League and we will provide him with all the support he needs to help him achieve that.
“He is a very experienced manager which is something we felt was needed but he’s also a tough character who is very much prepared for the battle ahead.”

Moore, assistant Sam Collins and Harris will be unveiled at a press conference at Victoria Park at 10am on Wednesday.

And Pools have slashed ticket prices for the games against Oxford United and Morecambe at Victoria Park.

Fans will pay just £10 for entrance in to either the Oxford game on Saturday or the Morecambe game on Sunday, December 28 - or they can buy for both at £15.

“We’re looking for the whole town to get right behind the Football Club now and hopefully this offer can attract as many fans to The Vic as possible,” explained Harris.

“We understand that supporters can play a key role in our drive away from the bottom of the table and that starts this weekend.”

Fans wishing to purchase tickets for both games for the offer price of £15 must do so in advance from the ticket office.

Those who have already bought tickets for the game can also claim a refund by returning their full match ticket.
