HARTLEPOOL United's game at Leyton Orient was postponed at 3.25pm today - with the Pools team coach stuck in traffic on the M11.

A fatal motorbike accident on the A406 North Circular closed roads and led to traffic gridlock on one of London's main motorway arteries.

Referee Brendan Malone was in constant contact with the Football League and emergency services and, with no sign of the Pools team coach managing to worm its way across to Brisbane Road - they have been stuck since setting off on the 20-minute journey from their team hotel since 12.40 -   the official had little choice but to call it off.

No new date has been arranged as yet.
