HARTLEPOOL UNITED have appealed for any interested parties to come forward.

Almost two months after being officially up for sale, there has been little interest.

No-one has completed any due diligence and only Chris Musgrave, a Hartlepool-based businessman has been close to taking over.

The future of the club is up in the air and a statement, released by solicitor Andrew Cawkwell reads:

"I have been instructed to act on behalf of  the board of directors of Hartlepool Football Club.

"The club (acting by its board of directors) is seeking a buyer and I have been authorised to release information to credible prospective buyers who are will willing to enter into a non-disclosure agreement.

"All forms of structuring in respect of any proposed transaction(s) will be considered.

"If you or any of your clients' or business contacts are interested in the opportunity then please contact andrew.cawkwell@newtons.co.uk and provide full details of who you are or who you represent and I will organise a non-disclosure agreement for you to sign. #Hartlepool Football Club #Football #Finance

"The current challenges facing the football club are well publicised as a result of the current owner determining that it is no longer able to provide financial support. A new owner is being sought and the current shareholder Sage Investments Limited is still running its own separate sales process via Geoff Cunningham at Walker Morris.’’

Following the solicitor's statement, Pools chairwoman Pam Duxbury issued a further missive.

It read: "As the Chairwoman of the football club I am ensuring that I have explored and exhausted every avenue available in order to try and find a new owner or attract further investment.

"I have engaged with Andrew Cawkwell at Newton’s Solicitors to supplement the process that the current owner is undertaking, and he is pushing out to his network currently.

"The overall responsibility for the sale of Hartlepool United Football Club remains with Geoff Cunningham at Walker Morris and I would recommend that as the main course of enquiry, however expressions of interest can be channelled through Andrew Cawkwell.

"The club will not be making any further comment.''
