Goals:
0-1: Oates (8, held off defenders and poked home a low and angled finish)
1-1: Adeboyejo (18, teed up from the right by Clarke and left unmarked to volley in)
2-1: Abrahams (34, drove in from 20 yards after a break through two weak defensive challenges)

Bookings: Semedo (55, foul), Koroma (83, foul), Walker (85, foul), Donnelly (90, dissent)

Sending-off: Donnelly (90, second bookable offence, dissent)

Referee: Dean Whitestone (Northampton): Didn’t do much wrong, certainly not to anger Donnelly in the manner he did 6
Attendance: 5,411

Entertainment: 1/5

LEYTON ORIENT (4-4-2): Sargeant 6; Clarke 6, Pollock 6, Mezague 7; Semedo 7, KELLY 7, Collins 6, Ochieng 6; Alzate 7 (McVallum 60, 6), Adeboyejo 7 (Koroma 75), Abrahams 7 (Moncur 84). Subs (not used): Janata, Dalby, Happe, Janse.

HARTLEPOOL UNITED (4-3-3):
6 Fryer: Twice beaten, but made saves to keep Pools in it and prevent further embarrassment;
6 Magnay: Thrown into action quicker than expected after injury and he’s not fully fit yet, but showed he cares
4 Harrison: Again frustrated, as the game went on it was clear. He cares and needs to show his discipline in the coming games
4 Walker: The novelty of playing in defence has worn off, now starting to look out of place. Matthew Bates needs to play there
1 Donnelly: An awful performance from the start, and that was long before he decided to square up to the referee and get sent-off. Embarrassing stuff;
3 Alessandra: How he missed a first-half effort only he knows. Moves around the pitch and weaves his way around without contributing anything of note
3 Featherstone: Wears the captain’s armband, but he’s no leader. Outmuscled and outfought in central midfield
2 Deverdics: Woeful performance. Given a chance in his preferred role and added nothing at all;
4 Thomas: Ripped Orient apart last Easter Monday, this time around was always a spectator. Pools don’t play to his strengths right now like they did then
5 Amond: Service – as ever – up to him was poor. Always willing and trying, but he was inexplicably replaced when he’s the only goalscorer Pools have
4 Oates: Scored one, missed two. Decision-making again poor, when he should have been full of beans after two goals in two games.

Subs:
Woods (for Deverdics 46): Gave Pools some early second-half spark, but soon faded into the mire like the rest of them 5
Rodney (for Amond 62): Might have touched the ball three times after he was introduced 3
Rooney (for Featherstone 82)
(not used): Bates, Hawkins, Blackford, Dudzinski.
