HARTLEPOOL UNITED have frozen season ticket prices for the next campaign; now the players and management have to ensure they remain amongst the best value in the Football League.

Pools have, over recent years, offered attractive season ticket deals. It started in 2011 when, provided they sold over 6,000 then they would only cost £100.

That worked a treat, and while attendances and sales have remained impressive, form and results have not.

Home performances in recent seasons have been desperately poor in the main.

Pools now have three games remaining at The Northern Gas and Power Stadium to remain in the Football League.

They take on Carlisle on Good Friday with only three points separating Pools and second-bottom Newport, who have picked up of late.

Defender Liam Donnelly, after Pools drew 1-1 at Morecambe on Saturday, admitted: "We've not been doing great away from home this season so you have to be happy enough with a draw.

"But it's disappointing still not to take three.

"There is pressure but we're good enough to compete with any team in this league.

"We've shown that and we need to keep showing that coming into the final run of the season and start winning games.’’

Pools go to Leyton Orient, who are isolated at the bottom of the table on Easter Monday and Donnelly added: "There’s two massive games coming in quick succession, but we are fairly confident going into both games and hopefully we'll get three points from each.

"Drawing is better than losing, happier with one point than none, but hopefully we can get two wins from the next two.

"It will be a massive game, a bit of a derby, hopefully we'll go into it confident.

"We are confident in our own ability, the fans have been unbelievable as well.

"Hopefully we'll get through it be getting a few wins to stay up.’’

Pools, after Orient, meet Barnet at home the following week before their last away game is at Cheltenham and the season ends with a home game against champions-elect Doncaster.

By then, Pools fate should be known.

And the club is hoping to entice fans for next season, by forming the largest squad in the club’s history.

A statement said: “Every supporter who ‘signs their deal’ to become a season ticket holder is as important to us as those who pen deals to play for us – and we want to make sure you know that.

“Season tickets will be on sale from Monday 8th May when we’ll be officially opening contract talks with supporters interested in being In The Squad.’’

The early bird deadline is Friday, June 30.

Adults tickets work out at £10.87 per game, while seniors and students pay the equivalent of £6.52 per game. Under 19s cost £5.22 per game and Under 16s only £3.26 per game.
