Season ticket sales at Hartlepool United have today past the 500 mark, on the day the club announced that sales have now also moved online.

Pools have introduced a new season ticket card for the forthcoming campaign and they can now be bought online, and match-by-match tickets can also be purchased.

Figures show a 35 per cent increase on sales from this time last year.

Long-standing fan Norman Webb bought the 500th ticket and said: “It’s a great surprise and it’s a good number to have reached so early in the summer.

“I’m very impressed with the new card system, that’s definitely a move forward for the club and I’m sure they’ll be much more popular than the old books.

“I was always going to renew – I just can’t wait for Euro 2016 to be over now so we can look forward to the new season at The Vic properly!

“I know we’ve not brought any players in as yet this summer but I’m hopeful that we’ll see some decent ones arriving and we can have a good 2016/17.”

Pools have frozen season ticket prices for the new campaign, and fans have until Friday, July 1 to take advantage of our early bird discounts, while current holders must renew by Friday, June 17 to guarantee their existing seats.

Early Bird Prices: Adults - £250 (£10.87 per game); Students/Seniors - £150 (£6.52 per game); Under 19s - £120 (£5.22 per game); Under 16s - £75 (£3.26 per game)
