HARTLEPOOL UNITED will be wearing a one-off kit during Saturday’s game against Cheltenham Town to help raise money for the British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The change of kit has become a tradition at Victoria Park, and helped raise thousands of pounds for the charity in recent years.

This year’s Nike design features royal blue with white side-panels, with an embroidered poppy emblem and the words ‘Lest We Forget’.

As usual, each player’s shirt will be made available for auction after the game with all proceeds being donated directly to the Poppy Appeal.

“This is something we’re extremely proud to be involved in every year,” explained Chief Executive Russ Green. “The one-off kits always seem to prove popular with supporters and it’s a unique opportunity to own a piece of limited edition Club memorabilia while at the same time support a very worthy cause.

“It never ceases to amaze me how generous our fans are when it comes to the Poppy Appeal and we hope that this year we can raise more than ever for the charity.”

The Club will also hold a minute’s silence prior to kick-off at Victoria Park as a mark of respect to all those who have given their lives fighting for our country.

Details of how to bid for a shirt will be announced next week.
