AN increase in season ticket prices for next season will help Ronnie Moore strengthen Hartlepool United’s squad, it has been claimed by the club’s chief executive Russ Green.

An adult season ticket will cost £250 with the early bird price, which is £70 more than the cost of the last one and equates to slightly more than £10 a game in League Two.

Senior citizens and students will pay £150 for a season ticket, while the cost for under-19s is £120 and it is £75 for under-13s before the end of July is bought with an adult ticket.

Season tickets go on sale from 10.30am on Tuesday, May 19 and existing holders have until Tuesday, June 30 to retain their current seat.

And Green, keen to avoid a repeat of this season’s fight to avoid relegation to the Conference, insists the increases were necessary.

“We recognise that football needs to be affordable and think that it is with the season ticket deal we have put together for 2015/16,” he said. “We’re still up there among the cheapest season tickets in our division again because we know the importance of ensuring football at the Vic is accessible to the people of the town.

“We hope to get a good response from fans once again because the income we raise from season ticket sales will be crucial in going towards what Ronnie can do to enhance his playing squad.

“We all saw what an incredible impact the fans had for us last season, particularly in the closing months, so hopefully we can get that wonderful backing again when the new term kicks-off in August.”

Regular matchday tickets will cost the same as during the last season, so Hartlepool officials hope fans will take advantage of the savings offered up by buying a season ticket.
