FORMER Darlington Football Club chairman George Houghton is meeting the administrator today about a potential take over of the stricken club.
The Tyneside property developer will hold talks with administrator Harvey Madden this afternoon.
Mr Houghton said: “I’m going along to see if I can salvage them, although not for the kind of money they have been talking about.
“I’m going along at 2pm today.”
Mr Houghton took over as chairman in March 2006 from the Sterling Consortium.
His reign came to an in February 2009 when he placed the club into administration with debts said to be £7.8m.
