DARLINGTON have made an addition to their squad ahead of tomorrow’s match at Leamington.

Left-back Ben O’Hanlon joined earlier today, teaming up again with Tommy Wright having played under him at both Corby and Nuneaton Town.

He was with Harrogate Town for the first half of the season, though was used only sparingly and released yesterday prior to becoming Wright’s latest recruit.

The 21-year-old has represented England at under-16, 17 and under-18 level becomes the eighth signing Wright has made, and will be in the squad for tomorrow.

O’Hanlon came through the youth ranks at Wolverhampton Wanderers, and had his first loan spell in the National League North with Corby in 2015-16, before last season saw a loan spell at AFC Telford United sandwiched between two periods spent playing for Nuneaton.

He played against Quakers twice last season. He was in the Nuneaton side that drew 1-1 with Darlington in September 2016, when The Northern Echo made him man of the match and reported: “The marauding left-back was a thorn down Darlington’s right flank.” And he was Telford’s left-back when Quakers lost 2-0 at the New Bucks Head in November 2016.

Wright’s other seven signings have been: Josh Heaton, Luke Trotman, Greg Mills, Reece Styche, James Talbot (loan), Mitchell Glover and Aynsley Pears (loan).

However, Liam Marrs has today left to join Dunston UTS in the Northern League on loan for the rest of the season.
