DARLINGTON have handed new contracts to three players.

Mark Beck, Nathan Cartman and Phil Turnbull have all committed themselves to Quakers, quelling fears they would leave the club this summer.

There had been speculation that the three would be among several to leave, and Beck was certainly in demand due to his contract expiring this summer.

He scored 18 goals this season and supplied numerous assists as Darlington’s talismanic frontman during his first year with the club, and he had attracted offers elsewhere.

Manager Martin Gray is delighted to have persuaded all three to stay at the club.

“There’s been a lot of hard work going on to get these players to sign contracts, so I’m absolutely delighted it has happened,” said Gray.

“I need to thank the Darlington Supporters Group for their help, they have helped us get these deals done.”

Beck has signed a two-year deal plus a one-year option, and Turnbull and Cartman have both signed two-year contracts.
