Darlington today sold their final ticket for Boxing Day’s homecoming at Blackwell Meadows, but they may have a handful more to sell if Halifax Town have been unable to sell all of their tickets.

The Northern Echo has been told by Quakers that they are waiting to hear how many of the 600 allocated to Halifax have been unsold.

Any unsold tickets can go to Darlington fans – if they are returned to the North-East in time.

Darlington manager Martin Gray said: “The fans have done exactly what we knew they would do and that’s sell the game out. We could have sold out twice over.”

Gray today allowed utility player Adam Nowakowski to join Bradford PA on a permanent basis.

An arrival from Harrogate Town in the summer of 2015, Nowakowski was rarely a regular in Quakers’ starting XI, but Gray favoured him for being a willing squad member and his ability able to play throughout the spine of the team.

He had joined Bradford on loan earlier in the season, and now signs permanently for a club due to visit Blackwell on March 21.
