I DIDN'T expect to get on yesterday against Gainsborough Trinity, but everything went well and it was good to get the boots back on.

I thought I would be a bit rusty, but there were no problems and we won 5-2 so it was a good day.

I’ve missed six matches with the injury, I picked it up against Kidderminster in September, but I had a training session on Thursday night for the first time and I was ready if asked to come on so it was good to get 45 minutes.

With it being a medial knee problem Martin probably wanted to give it a few more training sessions, but he asked me about five minutes the half-time whistle went if I’d be able to come on and obviously I said yes.

I’m just looking to get my fitness up now. It’ll take time, but I go to the gym every day and try to keep fit.

I’m glad to be back because I’m the worst watcher of games in history. I went down to Brackley last week, but I can’t stand watching because I just want to be playing, but I’m here to give the lads support and do my bit when I’m not playing.

I only had to watch the first half yesterday though, and it was a bit stop-start, it looked like any team could score. We were a bit sloppy to be honest with you.

It was for ten minutes into the second half too, but then we got a foothold into the game and after that we dominated.

We definitely need to keep more clean sheets because we’ve only had one in 15 games this season, and we should do with the back four and the team that we’ve got. But there’s some good strikers in this league, it’s a massive step up.

We’re at home again next Saturday against Worcester and we need six points from these two home games to put pressure on the leaders and to stay in the pack.
