DARLINGTON must travel to Lancaster City for the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The game is to be played a week Saturday and will see Quakers return to a venue, named the Giant Axe, where they twice played without scoring when in the Evo-Stik First Division North.

Both matches were 0-0 draws, the second of which being in the closing stages of the 2014-15 season and saw Lancaster celebrate after putting in a defence-first approach which all but ended Quakers’ title hopes, leading to Salford City finishing first.

As tempers frayed at full-time a melee in the tunnel ensued involving players from both sides, while after the match Lancaster assistant manager Trevor Sinclair, the former England international, engaged in hostile communication on social media with Darlington supporters, using the hashtag “#stayingdown”.

Quakers won promotion via the play-offs, and Sinclair has since stepped down from his role, as has manager Darren Peacock.

Darlington manager Martin Gray said: “We’ll prepare for the game just as we have for every other away game this season, properly and professionally.”

Lancaster are 17th after four games in the Evo-Stik First Division North, two divisions below Darlington, who tomorrow evening take on Stockport County at Heritage Park (7:45pm).
