DARLINGTON have announced ticket prices for next season in the National North League, a campaign that that will see the club return to the town.

After four seasons as tenants at Bishop Auckland’s Heritage Park, Quakers will move to Darlington Rugby Club’s Blackwell Meadows, where admission prices will be £12 for adults, £8 concessions and £4 for children.

Season tickets have been frozen and will again cost £210 for adults, £125 for concessions and £45 for children.

However, there will be two fewer home league matches in 2016-17.

Also, there will be no increase to child admission or season ticket prices for the third year running.

Having won the Northern Premier League title last season, their third promotion in four years, Quakers will compete at Step 2 in non-league, one below the National League.

With the combined demands of dealing with a step up in quality as well as moving to Blackwell, where improvements to facilities have yet to begin, club director Richard Cook describes next season as a “year of transition”.

He said: “Once again the club is committed to balancing value for money with the need to remaining competitive on and securing the future of the club off the field.

“We are committed to supporting our manager, Martin Gray, in the National League North where we will be competing against some well-known and well-funded clubs including Stockport County, FC United of Manchester and FC Halifax Town.

“This year will be a year of transition for the club while we move back to Darlington. We hope the town rallies behind the club in increased attendances and we have the opportunity to greatly expand our commercial offer to the wider business community.

“Once again we want to attract the town’s youngsters back to club. Current numbers remain low and we have once again frozen children’s ticket prices and season tickets. Over the year we will be heavily focusing on community engagement and attracting the future supporters of the club to Blackwell Meadows. A number of key initiatives will be announced in due course.”

“We firmly believe that as a club this fair pricing for the new season in a higher league of the National League North will give us the best chance to grow the fan base back in Darlington and also provide the strongest chance of building on the success of three promotions in four seasons.”

Meanwhile, two of Darlington’s pre-season friendlies have been announced. They travel to Buxton, the club from which they signed Liam Hardy, on July 2, and Gateshead on July 22.
