ALAN WHITE is expected to be available for Darlington’s home game with Buxton today, despite disciplinary proceedings being underway.

Quakers are still waiting to hear from the Football Association in relation to an incident at the end of a match which took place at the beginning of last month.

White received a red card following an altercation with an assistant referee after a 1-0 defeat to Marine on October 3, and within weeks the defender admitted a charge of violent conduct.

However, the FA have since been slow to inform Darlington of White’s punishment.

The dismissal meant a three-match suspension and having also reached his fifth caution for the season during the fixture his ban stretched to four games.

Last Saturday’s win in the FA Trophy against Mossley brought that four-game ban to a conclusion, and although a further suspension is expected White is free to play today at Heritage Park. Quakers were due to contact the FA yesterday to confirm White’s availability.

White’s return coincides with the Stephen Thompson and Adam Mitchell also being available having served one-match bans last weekend, but Martin Gray is likely to be without several first-team players as Kevin Burgess (calf), Tom Portas (hamstring) and David Dowson (hamstring) have all been carrying injuries.

Adam Nowakowski is due to keep his place in the centre of midfield ahead of Phil Turnbull, who is out of action due to a broken jaw.

Nowakowski scored in last Saturday’s win, his second start of the season having not played since the opening day defeat to Buxton when he sustained several fractures Buxton won 2-0 on a day that saw them give former Darlington midfielder Ricky Ravenhill a debut.

A win today would see Darlington move back to the top of the table on goal difference as leaders Blyth Spartans are without a match.

* At today’s match the Darlington FC Supporters Group will hold a collection for the Darlington FoodStore Network. This is the fourth time that they done this and on each occasion fans have been extremely generous.

Fans are asked to bring an item of non-perishable food such as a bag of rice or dried pasta, or perhaps something in a tin. Collection points will be located pitch side of the turnstiles.
