Pools' friendly offer to Quakers

HARTLEPOOL United have offered to visit Darlington to play a fund-raising game in aid of the striken Quakers.

Pools chief executive Russ Green revealed that Pools last week made an approach to the Quakers with a view to organising a friendly for their local rivals in the first week of February, with all proceeds going to the Conference club.

"We'd be delighted to send a team over there and play a friendly to hopefully help them raise some funds,'' Pools chief executive Russ Green explained.

Not sure its a good idea.
Lot of Police & costs involved. The vast majority of fans will be Okay, but both clubs have a lunatic following. Any bad news stories may have a bad effect on the rescue momentum. Leave it for another day.

MSG: The income will easily offset the costs for policing.

I see where you're coming from, but we can't turn down the opportunity for a derby game.

Shouldn't be any trouble at the ground itself, so it's not the club's problem (I know it's not that simple).

Cash is king.
