SHILDON, the last remaining Northern League team left in the FA Cup, have been drawn at home in the penultimate qualifying round.

The Railwaymen beat Stalybridge from the Conference North in the last round, but this time their opponents could be from the same level as them. They have been drawn at home to the winners of Tuesday night’s replay between Stourbridge from the EvoStik Premier Division and Blaby and Whetstone from the East Midlands Counties League.

Shildon manager Gary Forrest said; “At least it’s a home draw, and it will be a tough game.”

Blaby and Whetstone are from the same league as St Andrews, who lost to West Auckland in the Vase semi final last season. Stourbridge are currently seventh in the EvoStik, two divisions above Shildon.

Spennymoor have also been given a home tie, against the winners of Tuesday night’s replay between Ashton United and Salford City.

Moors manager Jason Ainsley said; “It’s a really tough tie but one in which we can progress if we play like we can. It will be difficult whichever team we face.”

Moors have already played Salford in the Evo-Stik First Division North, and were unlucky not to beat them, having a late goal disallowed.

Blyth Spartans have been drawn away to the winners of the Bedworth v Mickleover replay.

The draw as it affects the North-East clubs is; Shildon v Blaby and Whetworth or Stourbridge, Spennymoor v Ashton United or Salford, Bedworth or Mickleover v Blyth. (Games to be played on October 11)
