THE result of Kevin Keegan's constructive dismissal claim against Newcastle United will not be revealed until the start of next week.

A Premier League independent arbitration panel completed their hearing into Keegan's case against the Magpies today, having heard evidence from both the former Newcastle boss and the club's owner, Mike Ashley, in the last two weeks.

They have reserved judgement, however, in order to consider their findings over the course of the weekend.

The panel are expected to reconvene on Monday, with an announcement now expected in the first half of next week.

Richard Bevan, the chief executive of the League Managers' Association who has been advising Keegan since he left St James' Park last September, said: "Having heard the evidence from both sides, the panel has reserved judgement and there will be no further comment on the process until the panel have published their findings."

Keegan is claiming a sum far in excess of the £8m he would have been due in the remaining three years of his contract, and next week's verdict could affect Ashleys attempts to sell Newcastle United to Tyneside businessman Barry Moat.
