DARLINGTON are taking votes for this season’s player of the year poll, the winner of which will be announced at the club’s awards night next month.

Staged at the Mecure Kings Head Hotel in Darlington, it takes place on Friday, May 4 starting at 7pm.

Awards handed out will include goal of the season, players' player of the year, fans' player of the year and the manager's player of the year.

Last year Mark Beck was named as both the fans’ and players’ Player of the Year, while Nathan Cartman was given the Goal of the Season accolade, as voted for online by supporters.

Alternatively, you can cast your vote at Quaker Retail in the Dolphin Centre between 10am and 1pm up to Friday and in person Darlington’s match at Blackwell Meadows on Saturday against Nuneaton Town.

Quakers are due to play away to Spennymoor Town tomorrow evening, though the venue is yet to be confirmed due to the playing surface at the Brewery Field being waterlogged recently.

Moors’ home game last night with Kidderminster Harriers was moved to Harrogate Town, the third such switch in recent weeks.

Moors kept their play-off bid on course with a 1-1 draw, leaving them in seventh place, two points ahead of both Bradford Park Avenue and York City but with three games in hand on each.

Darlington have two games in hand on York are seven points behind Martin Gray’s team.

After tomorrow evening’s match with Moors and then Saturday’s game against Nuneaton, Quakers conclude the season with a home game against Southport in seven days’ time before travelling to Stockport County on April 28.
